About Us

Lois and Chichi met when they worked for the Training Department in the same company. There were many commonalities, among them the passion for travel and adventure. Both wanted to travel around Southeast Asia and have even put it on their 30 before 30 list. Five months later, the travel buddies have:

Join us in our adventures, walk barefoot with us and let’s wrap our arms around the world one trip at a time! Even better, come and dance the Americano with us!

About Sole Sister Lois

I am a student of Life and my wanderlust will never be sated. I love the water, whether it’s the ocean, river, waterfalls or just a quick run through the shower. When I’m not having adventures around the globe, I am shooting photos, surfing, surfing someone's couch or playing a tennis match.

I believe people should stop thinking about the cant's and focus on the possibilities. I believe that those who say something is impossible should not interrupt the person who is doing it.

I own very little and dream of the day I get to make living doing what I love.

About Sole Sister Chichi

I am a wanderer. I am a gypsy. My proof: I own only 2 types of home appliances (hand-me-downs), an oven toaster and a blender. I hightailed out of my hometown before you could say 'TOGA' to work in the big, bad city of Manila.

I am inherently curious about people, places and culture. I want to feel alive every waking moment of my life - I want to squeeze every drop of fun, adventure and excitement out of it. Music soothes my soul. I used to be a shopaholic but completely did a 180 all in the name of travel. Play me some Brazilian hip-hop, Scissor Sisters or my fave Britney Spears song (Break the Ice) and I will DANCE myself SILLY.

My piggy bank is constantly depleted by my love for travel, fashion, books and food. Mostly with travel. I am in no way related to that Dragonball character.

Awesome blog! So refreshing to read about fellow Filipinas who are gutsy enough to travel either backpacker style or even solo. I've been doing it for quite awhile myself (I'm a Filipina currently living the Republic of Georgia as a volunteer) and have always had people (mostly Filipinos) think I'm crazy/strange for travelling the way I do. I hope your blog continues to encourage Filipinas to travel and see the world!

Great video! You girls could be the next dancing Matt! Makes me want to do a special dance for my upcoming RTW!

Wow! Will be reading your interesting blog and perhaps it might inspire me to save up and travel as well

OMG. That video is hilarious! All that dancing in Bagan and Mt. Popa? Haha! We've pretty much covered the same places. I love it!!!

you can check out my travel blog as well, started a new one, my old was a bit of a hodge podge of entries. :o

April

Hi! i just saw your article in the magazine when i was travelling back to my hometown, Cagayan de oro City! I'm very inspired coz you just followed your passion and you didnt mind if you had to quit your jobs! I like your challenges and i must say i admire how you managed P100k for months! I can say i'm good at budgeting but i was really at awe how you managed the P100k! Try checking out our city and i'll give you tips. Go for river rafting...

Hallooo!!! ay grabe... idol ko kayo.. sobra kainggit .. :) Godbless muah

I also found my sole sister just like you two, inspired by the article in Smile magazine when me and my friend, Tin, were on our way to Busan. :) I started travelling when I got a challenge from my mom. This was way back 2010 when she saw my bank account and said, what am I saving for when I'm still young and I can do whatever I wanna do. It struck me that I've been too uptight. I'm trying to live my life to the fullest, I've even tried travelling solo. You two are awesome! Its hard to find someone you can travel with, and get along with. You two are epitomes of independent and carefree women. You both rock!!!

Hello Lois and Chichi, I've read about the two of you when my Nanay took home a copy of smile magazine just before I decided to make a solo trip to Hong Kong and Macau... Thank you so much for the inspiration.
I have a blog on the works which is www.nikkitravel22.blogspot.com just so that I can have an outlet of my travel thoughts (this was after a backpacking trip with the family in Vietnam)but reading yours was really an eye-opener for all the other SEA countries. Hoping to read more from the solesisters.

Our answer to your call, to dance the Americano with of you. XD http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nE4z9vdfwZY

sweet! u haven't crashed out the "swim with butandings" part, maybe u'd consider trying that here in cebu. it's just a 2-hr drive away from the city. and there's about 15 of them here. plus u get to enjoy the waterfalls and some other beautiful things this place has to offer...

Loved reading about your experience!

I'm a fan and I want visiting different places and exploring new culture. I'll always visit your blog:) BTW nice Americano dance. haha! I can do that tooooo:)

Hello, sole sisters! :)

I love your blog, your writing style and your Americano dance! :)

I've been contemplating a lot about quitting the corporate world and start a business to fund my travels and I've been getting a lot of inspiration from you.

Thanks for all the inspiring posts! :)

Hello Sole Sisters,

I love reading your blog and you inspire me to travel this year.
I love your Americano Dance too.

Sole Sister Chichi, I am now excited on your PHL360º webisodes. I Can't wait to watch it this coming June.

Hello Sole Sisters,

been here before thru James´blog, but I was shy enough to leave a message. Ngayon kinapalan ko na after I read your post: Why I Travel as a Filipino (shared my James on his fb).

I love travelling too and I want to travel more. And I am so glad to have stumbled on Pinoy travel bloggers sites coz it inspires me to pursue my love for travel.

I love reading your articles. Keep it up.

I´ll link you on my blog after this, hope you´ll link me too. Thanks.

God bless.

Amazing blog! I really enjoyed the writing. The Americano music video was also really cute, I was smiling constantly whilst watching it.

Let me introduce myself. My name is Will and I’m from Accommodation.com, a recently formed company with big plans to develop one of the top travel guide and accommodation websites in the world. We’ve been growing rapidly and it’s been really exciting, especially when it comes to choosing the best people to write content for our site.

If you are interested, I’d love both of you each to write 4 posts on some top attractions/destinations in a particular city plus a post on the top places to stay at. It’d be preferable if one of the attractions you choose to write about is somewhat quirkier in nature.

We will pay you guys $100 AUD via paypal for 5 initial articles each and if the quality is really great, we’d be more than happy to bump up the price in the future. I think it’d be a great opportunity for us to cooperate, help get your name across and at the same time, build up an amazing project together. We’ll publish your work along with a photo and brief bio of yourself on the website. Cool right?

Since our domain is so great we will be getting so much traffic every single day and lots of people will be able to view your work.

What do you think? Hit me back with a reply by emailing william@accommodation.com and I’ll assign you a city to work on. I’m looking forward to hearing from both of you!

Cheers,

Will
