My Travel Wishlist

This year had brought me many adventures in travel and in life. Our family had moved from Portugal to France and I was able to visit several countries despite the responsibilities of being a mom and wife.

In March, I was in Budapest, Hungary. In July, I was in Dubrovnik, Croatia. In August I made it back to the Philippine for a few weeks. In September, I was in Marrakech and Agadir, Morocco as well as Barcelona. And I even managed to go to Berlin and Copenhagen in November. We ended the year with a quick trip to Annecy, France to visit some friends.

I'm grateful to have had the opportunity to travel to those places. But here's the truth:

The greatest irony of travel is that the more places you see,
the more places you want to see.

I guess after being bit by the travel bug, you never really want to stop exploring. And you'll do everything you can, despite your circumstances, to continue visiting new places.

I can't help but wish for more adventures in countries I have never been to. Here are the 10 countries that comprise my travel wishlist:

Prague by je shoots

1 Prague

This Czech capital had been on my mind since I visited Budapest. I was tempted to take the train to visit but 1-2 days just doesn't cut it for me. I would want more time so I can visit the one of the largest castle complex in the world. I would love to walk around the city and see the mix of gothic, baroque and renaissance architecture which is unique in Europe.

2 Vienna

Strangely enough, it's the pastries in Paris that make me want to go. I love French pastries so much and it's interesting to know that some of it's roots come from Vienna. The term Viennoiserie refers to certain French pastries made from pâte viennoise, a leavened, sweetened dough so-named because of its origin in Vienna. But apart from enjoying the pastries and coffee shops, I would also love to visit the Schloss Schönbrunn to see the castle and the gardens. And because you know I love food, I would love to visit their 2 popular markets, the Naschmarkt and the Brunnenmarkt which is the longest street market in Europe.

3 Iceland

I've always wanted to visit Iceland since I met my husband. When we met, he had recently been on a trip there and he showed me the most awesome drone footage of the glaciers, icebergs and waterfalls. I'll be sure to visit a geyser or 2, dip into the Blue Lagoon Geothermal Spa and wait for the northern lights.

Melbourne by dhruva reddy

4 Melbourne

We once had a chance to live in this coastal capital of the southeastern Australian state of Victoria. My husband had considered working for a company here and we were dreaming of spending our days surfing and wining. But the plans fell through. But I'm sure we'll find our way to this great city sooner or later. We just need to find a cheap car hire in Melbourne airport.

5 Martinique

I have so many reasons to visit this rugged Caribbean island that’s an overseas region of France. It's mainly for the beaches and the landscape. But I also want to try the food which is a bit of French and Carribean influences.

Bolivia by nikita andreev
6 Bolivia

I have a Bolivian friend that I met in New York City and since I met her, I've always wanted to go. She's now studying in Paris and every time I see her, I'm thinking: "I should really make it out to Bolivia." My main motivation would be the locals as my friend is one of the warmest, most fun-loving and just all out happy person I've ever met. I also want to see the Salar de Uyuni, Bolivian salt flats for myself. And I'm sure I would just love the food.

7 Canary Islands

It's warm, there's surfing, the food is amazing. Do I need any other reason? Did I mention that the weather stays warm all year round?

Faroe islands by jake hinds

8 Faroe Islands

After a visit to Copenhagen, I learned that the dreamy Faroe islands are part of their territory. Hiking to visit quaint villages nestled at the foot of breathtaking mountains and fjords would be at the top of my list. And surprisingly, it’s still one of the few obscure places in the world that is not yet marred by overtourism.

9 London

I hate to admit that I have never been to London despite the fact that I have relatives here and that I actually applied for a visa last year. But it's definitely on the list for this year. I think I'm just going to spend most of my time sitting at cafés, listening to people speak English and hoarding English books on my way back to France.

Edinburgh by adam wilson

10 Edinburgh

I want to go mainly for the same reasons I want to go to London. But just to add to my to do list: see the castle, have a scotch whisky experience and visit the medieval Old Town.

So that's my travel wishlist for the new year. Where are you planning to go this year?

As you know a resume should always be written for a specific job. So everything would be easier if you just buy a resume in some good writing service. What do you think about that one, guys? Would be grateful for feedback.
