Worn Across Subic With Wrangler Philippines
Wednesday, July 03, 2013When I got the invitation to join the Wrangler Philippines team for an adventure trip: Worn Across Subic, I was surprised. I didn't expect to be invited by a fashion brand. But when I heard what the trip was all about, I couldn't resist jumping right in!
Shopping Start
So last June 7,2013 we went on a road trip to Subic. We arrived at the Harbor Point Mall in style aboard the Wranglermobile. We were treated to a shopping spree and I joined the girls as we grabbed some travel-ready outfits.
I definitely needed a versatile pair of jeans and short shorts as well as a top in beach colors that was wrinkle free and could double as a cover up. Then I found out that they had recently launched this awesome product called Denim Spa jeans. Can you imagine deep moisturizing your legs just by wearing a pair of figure hugging pants? My sun kissed skin definitely needed some of that!
Pamulaklakin Forest
Pamulaklakin Forest
Our first taste of adventure was pretty intense at the Pamulaklakin Forest (translation: Flowering Forest?). It brought us deep into the jungle to glimpse the Aeta's indigenous culture as well as Subic Bay's rich flora and fauna. Unlike what the name suggested, this was a forest filled with bamboo, non-existent paths, small rivers and huge 100 year old trees.
We were lead by our Aeta guide as he hacked his way into the forest to make way for our group. I was amazed by what you can do and learn here. He showed us the different types of trees and other plant species. He showed us how to get drinking water flowing from tree branches, make fire without matches, cook meals by using only bamboo and rice and a lot of other jungle survival techniques used by the tribes.
Tree Top Adventure
The next day, things were gonna get even more exciting at Subic's Tree Top Adventure! This place is like the Disneyland of ziplines, rappel and free fall!
We all got more than a day's worth of adrenaline rush for sure! One of my favorites was the Interactive Free Fall Adventure where they pull you up 70 feet off the ground then drop you. I was screaming for dear life, totally unnerved when my scream just stopped in mid-fall! My heart was literally in my throat! What an intense head rush! The only thing that topped that was the Tree Drop Adventure - Rappelling:

You see its amazingly-long and sharp tiger-canine teeth and you feel equal amounts of fear and excitement. Our guide bravely extends a handful of chicken meat through a small window that the tiger jumps on and consumes greedily. I was seated behind the guide so I felt and smelled the tiger's breath. Truly a close encounter!

Ocean Adventure
Our close encounters with beautiful animals didn't end at the safari. The next day, I got to see one of my favorite animals: the dolphin. And dance with one of them too! We first watched a dolphin and whale show and I couldn't help but feel like a 5 year old and be amazed! I had a deeper respect for the ocean and its magnificent creatures after that. And the best part? Swimming with them of course!
Worn Across with Wrangler
I had such a great experience with the Wrangler team, contest winners and of course Aisa all throughout this weekend! Wrangler is the ultimate companion for the open road! After wearing all the Wrangler gear and testing it out, we knew it was part of the whole adventure. I can't wait for them to take the Worn Across campaign across the Philippines and even to more international destinations!
