I love to get active when I travel.

I'm not the type of traveler who vegetates by the pool or spends most of their time in a catatonic state on a beach blanket. I mean, there's nothing wrong with that. We all have our own travel style and quirks for sure. I'm just not one who can sit still for longer than 5 minutes especially when I'm in a new place. These are some activities I love to do when I'm out exploring:

If you're part of the Sole Sisterhood, I'm sure you like to get active too. But there's one thing I don't look forward to every month especially when I'm on the road: the dreaded period. It's inevitable right? But sometimes I really wish it would come like, every 2 years or so.

Okay enough wishful thinking. We can't do anything about the monthly period, but we can't be prisoners forever. That's why I always stock up on Playtex tampons when I go on trips. Here are my top 3 reasons why I prefer Playtex tampons to pads:

  1. One of my favorite activities when travelling, is Swimming. As much as I want to, I can only get to choose when I want to travel, but not when I would get my period and so, this is where Playtex comes in very handy! With it, I get to swim without having to think about dislocating pads and that awkward feeling of having something wet and squishy down there. Also, I love how it's light weight & doesn't consume much space at all! :) It makes me feel like I can do anything, even if I have my period and I get to enjoy my adventure! :)

    Recently, I discovered that I'm really a flexible traveler. I like to divulge myself in different activities based on the location or destination. I can't really tell you my favorite activity when traveling because I'll end up writing a list longer than your post. Lol. So, because I've found that I love everything I do while I'm out there, my answer to your question would be: Exploring.
    I love exploring places - from their culture, its deepest, darkest, Mother Nature secrets. The beaches, underwater marine life. The most adventurous activities I can do in the place. I love surfing and climbing, okay, so I chickened out the last time I jumped a cliff, but I'd love to do it now. And I'd love to try sandboarding too! Ah, the thrill of adventure, that exhilarating feeling that you have once you do something so awesome. It's addictive!
    But this doesn't just involve exploring the place. I also love to explore what I can or cannot do. My limitations, my fears, what I love to do and experience. I love to know when or where I'm most confident or when I have to admit that I'm really conscious or insecure about something. And let's face it, the times when I'm most insecure? is when I have my period. Why couldn't I have just been a guy? Charot. I'm too straight for my benefit. Lol.

    Explore, swim and trek are my favorite to-do activities when travelling. However, monthly periods can be quite a pain and a turn down in achieving my favorite to-do lists. Sanitary pads makes me uncomfortable because of 5 reasons (1)
    I have to check if it is properly placed, (2) I regularly ask if I have no bloody stains on my shorts, (3) I have to find time to change my pads and carry extra undies, (4) I need to wash my stained undies and shorts, and (5) I must make sure that I don't exert unnecessary movement to avoid the stain.

    I am having so much fun when I am wandering, be it solo or
    with friends. And exploring the place, doing "buwis-buhay" activities
    is a significant part of travel J
    Am the type of girl who is too girly for some people, mahinhin, lampa haha but
    I faced my fears including the dreaded time of the month that comes being a
    lady. Life is short they say, so run like a wind. Be liberatingly happy J

    My favorite activity when i travel is when i make friends along the way (besides the endless activities i do :-)) .. i love those spontaneous conversations with strangers or fellow travelers, and the best part is, knowing that you had a great time chatting w/ strangers despite your differences.. happy travel everyone! :-)

    When I travel, I tend to make the ocean my playground. I don't know if it's a 'Cancerian' thing but I've definitely embraced it as my element so to speak. Cebu is my home and water (loads of it) have always been a part of my life. Like you, I love the thrill of surfing and letting the waves embrace me. I'm a full bag of excitement when I get the chance to snorkel and jump off cliffs. Getting a PADI certification is my next stop and if I could grow fins and gills that would be amazing! Thing is, my period tends to come with me on trips and that gets really frustrating especially if I have a whole day at the beach planned. It's not swimming with it that's bothersome, it's coming out of the water... if you know what I mean. Tampons are a godsend! I've tried Playtex and they've been lifesavers! (especially when it came to saving me from embarrassment.)

    i search on the internet or ask friends that have been to the place i'm going (if first time) where are the best food places...i make sure i am able to try at least 2 to 3 on the list... that's my fave travelling activity: FOOD TRIP! :D

    My activities would depend on what place I'm going to. I've gone surfing in Baler, hiking in Samal Island, eating in Cebu, partying in Boracay, white water rafting in CDO but hands down my favorite activity happens where the water meets the sand: any activity on a beach and you've got me sold.

    travel, I always love to go to a place where I have relatives because my favorite
    activity when I travel is playing with little kids like my cousins, nieces
    and/or nephews. You might think it’s not an activity but for a kid lover like
    me it helps me to feel free, confident and happy. Kid’s brings extreme joy to
    us and when they play, they are so unstoppable. It always makes me active when
    I travel.

    new experiences. I remember the first time I tried body jumping… My God I
    thought it will make me sick, but then I realized that it was really exciting.
    It makes me feel free, as if all my problems have gone and leave in the air. I also
    love taking photos while travelling, I never ever leave one place without
    taking photos there, actually through
    taking photos I am able to find myself every time I look at it. I also love
    seeing new things while travelling. Most especially I enjoy trying new stuff (food).
    It is a big part of travel for me. I love
    going to supermarkets, little boutiques and markets, and can literally spend
    hours just looking at strange new and interesting food items which I’ve never
    seen and taste before.

    I couldn't agree more with this post! Being a girl dealing with monthlies and maintaining an active lifestyle used to be unthinkable. Ugh.

    Just last year when I went on a Caramoan adventure and a sidetrip to CWC, it chose the best time to visit! I had to pound the pavement looking for tampons in downtown Naga for convenience and grocery stores until I had no choice but wait for the mall to open and get some. Ang effort! Hope Playtex will ramp marketing and distribution all over the country soon.

    On favorite activities when traveling, I always try to eat/drop by/see some food or place that the locals enjoy. Since slow travel is not possible for me to let the daily grind seep in, at least taste of what they usually have or do makes the trip more memorable. I also like hearing guides talk about the history of their towns and gossip about the who's who list of people who have visited in the past. I talk for a living so when I go somewhere else, I mainly shut up and listen, observe and learn.

    Last but not the least, I try overcome my phobias when I travel coz I do what I fear most. Flying, deep waters, heights, creepy-crawlies, you name it. These still scare the bejeesus out of me but I'm slowly conquering them. If I can survive monthly madness from my periods, I can survive anything! ;D

    My favorite activity when traveling is just walking around to explore the place. Unlike other people who just likes to sit and relax, I prefer to roam around, look at structures, whether they're natural or man-made. I enjoy seeing how people live their lives in their respective regions, see and taste what they eat and even try some of the things they do in their everyday chores. You'll never be able to experience those things if you'll just sit on your rented room and watch television so go out and WALK. Take chance in experiencing what the place has to offer. Enjoy traveling! :)

    Traveling has always been the most exciting part of life. You get to see the different sides of the world, meet new people, learn new ways, eat tons of amazing dishes the world can offer, see places that you've never seen before, inspire you in so many ways and hunger to explore more. As a foodie, traveler and photographer, documenting, seeing the world through my camera, capturing the very essence of the world and the life in it, tasting and experiencing life at its best is my favorite activity when traveling.

    Having monthly periods never stops me from enjoying my travels. But Playtex tampons has always been a great help for me. I have been using this for about a year now. What makes me really impressed about this product is it never fails me, it's safe, it's intact, it's comfy and it always delivers.

    I love to travel! I believe it makes me enjoy and discover the world more. I enjoy it most when I travel with my whole family! And my favorite activity when traveling is EATING and MEETING NEW PEOPLE/NATIONALITIES. You get to know a certain place/country once you munch into their delicacies! I believe food connects us all. And ofcourse meeting new people, hearing a different language and learning a thing or two from them makes each trip even more special!
