Why Travel Estan of Langyaw.com?
Vivid, stunning photography. That's what initially drew me to Estan Cabigas' travel and photography site. I have been following him for more than a year now, way before I started travel blogging myself. I love his portraits. He always shows a side of the subject that makes you look a bit more closely.
Estan Cabigas is is an avid traveler, multi-awarded blogger and photographer. Not just that, he's a true blooded Cebuano like Chichi. He's also lived and worked in Davao where I'm originally from.
Here's why, like the Sole Sisters, Estan has itchy soles himself:
The habal-habal sped off down the slope at the junction in Damay, Impasug-ong, Bukidnon as I sat just behind the rambunctious driver of the Honda motorcycle. The high canopy of trees above parted and as we came and stopped at a clearing at one side of the mountain, lo and behold, just before us, a majestic view of Bukidnon in the heart of Mindanao. Its plateaus, hills and mountains with the awesome Kitanglad and Kalatungan mountain ranges looming at the background set in place to form a perfect panorama that easily imprinted in my mind.
I am exhilarated. I am ecstatic. And I am humbled at such natural beauty!
Travel offers all these wondrous sensory overload. It broadens one’s horizons. It is not only a discovery of places, people, vistas and food. It is not only about reaching the destination. More than that.
It is a personal journey to one’s self.

More about Langyaw.com:
If you're planning to go off the beaten track, Estan is your go-to guy. He's been to far flung areas in the Philippines like Batanes, Agutaya (where the hell is that?) and Ticao Island. He's had many unique travel experiences like the time he broke a ritual taboo in Batad Province and went sandboarding at the Ilocos Norte sand dunes.
Why Travel Wednesdays is a weekly series we're running. We're featuring fellow travelers and asking them the question: Why do you travel? Perhaps it will encourage more of us to walk the road less travelled and wrap our arms around the world one trip at a time! Next week, we're excited to feature another big guy who takes us on his trips with his stunning photography - Ferdz Decena.
