Why Travel Wednesdays
Wednesday, December 22, 2010Why Travel Gay of PinayTravelJunkie.com?
Why I travel? Just because.
To tell you the truth, at this point in my life, I have no particular reason why I do so. And it's because my objectives evolve from one trip to another.
Case(s) in a point: I spelunked in Sagada (my first backpacking trip) because of post break-up angst, I climb mountains to test my patience, I braved Basilan because I was feeling suicidal, I went to Europe to attend Germany's Oktoberfest and see Amsterdam's Red Light District, I lived for a short while in UAE. to experience how it's like to be an OFW, I backpacked for 6 months around SE Asia with my boyfriend to know if he's backpacking buddy-slash-hubby material, I visited China during winter season to see if I could handle the cold... and so forth.
The list goes on and the reasons range from profound justifications to downright silly, childish rationale. Perhaps in the next few years when my baby daughter gets a bit older, another reason to travel is to be able to give her first hand education of how the world works.
And if I may add... I travel to prove that Pinays can conquer the globe!
The Sole Sisters couldn't agree with you more Gay.

Why Travel Wednesdays is a weekly series we're running. We're featuring fellow travelers and asking them the question: Why do you travel? Perhaps it will encourage more of us to walk the road less travelled and wrap our arms around the world one trip at a time! Next week, we're excited to feature award winning travel blogger Estan of langyaw.com.
